Beeldend kunstenaar

Creëren en begeleiden lopen als een rode draad door mijn leven. Na een lange loopbaan als docent creatieve vakken, schooldecaan en loopbaancoach richt ik mij nu volledig op mijn werk als beeldend kunstenaar. Mijn artistieke ontwikkeling kreeg onder meer vorm aan de Vrije Academie in Den Haag. Tegenwoordig werk ik vanuit mijn eigen atelier en geef ik daarnaast workshops boetseren.

Mijn werk bestaat voornamelijk uit ruimtelijke beelden, die ik boetseer in was of klei en vervolgens uitvoer in materialen als brons, gips, aluminiumcement en kunststof. Ook werk ik met staal, koper en steen. Daarnaast schilder ik met acryl- en olieverf op doek en paneel.

Inspiratie vind ik in oude culturen, waaronder Egypte, maar ook in mijn jarenlange ervaring als coach. Thema’s als communicatie, projectie en balans vormen regelmatig het vertrekpunt voor mijn werk. Het fascineert mij om abstracte begrippen te vertalen naar een tastbare vorm.

Mijn beelden zijn aangekocht door particulieren en bedrijven en enkele werken hebben een plek gekregen in openbare ruimtes, waaronder Het gevleugeld idee in het gemeentekantoor van Oisterwijk en Het bedrijf in het Rabo Adviescentrum in Tilburg.

In mijn werk probeer ik zichtbaar te maken wat niet altijd direct zichtbaar is.

Visual Artist

Creating and guiding have been a common thread throughout my life. After a long career as a teacher of creative subjects, a school counselor, and a career coach, I now focus entirely on my work as a visual artist. My artistic development took shape, in part, at the Vrije Academie in The Hague. These days, I work from my own studio and also teach modeling workshops.

My work consists primarily of three-dimensional sculptures, which I model in wax or clay and then cast in materials such as bronze, plaster, aluminum cement, and plastic. I also work with steel, copper, and stone. In addition, I paint with acrylic and oil paints on canvas and panel.

I find inspiration in ancient cultures, including Egypt, as well as in my many years of experience as a coach. Themes such as communication, projection, and balance frequently serve as the starting point for my work. I am fascinated by translating abstract concepts into a tangible form.

My sculptures have been purchased by private collectors and companies, and some works have found a home in public spaces, including Het gevleugeld idee at the Oisterwijk municipal office and Het bedrijf at the Rabo Adviescentrum in Tilburg.

In my work, I strive to make visible what is not always immediately apparent.
